I created a main image and banner for the National Geographic website, centred around the theme of ‘water’. This piece is a collage of multiple images, highlighting the importance of water and its conservation, particularly in preventing desertification and ensuring clean water supply for wildlife.

The image above is a mockup of how the main image and banner would look if embedded in the actual National Geographic website.

Main image - Clean water supply for wildlife

I expressed the scene of plants reviving as water is given to the dry earth. Each image was created by adjusting colours and shapes to blend with the background and other elements. I emphasised the importance of water by adding droplets next to the title.

The video above shows the creation process.

The top image expresses the importance of water by showing that both terrestrial and underwater organisms cannot live without it.
The left image was designed to be used as the main image. The right image was created as a vertical banner with an aspect ratio of 4:15, and the click button was brought to the bottom of the content as a final action.
